How the solver chooses a route
Each edge changes exactly one letter. BFS explores all routes of a shorter length before moving farther away. If no route connects the words in our list, the solver says so. A missing word is not necessarily invalid English; our list may be narrower than the official game.
Some puzzles have several equally short routes. We show the one our BFS returns, using a fixed alphabetical tie-break.
